Prof. Dr. Mehmet Erdem graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1994 and completed his specialization in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 2001.
He began his academic career at Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Medicine, serving as an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor from 2002 to 2010.
Between 2010 and 2012, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Erdem held the positions of Deputy Clinical Chief and Acting Chief at Istanbul Kartal Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Training and Research Hospital’s Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic. From 2012 to 2024, he continued his academic and clinical work as an Associate Professor and later a Professor in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at Sakarya University Faculty of Medicine.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Erdem also has extensive international experience. He completed a fellowship in shoulder, hip, and knee surgery in Philadelphia, USA, between 2013 and 2014, and pursued further training in hip and knee surgery in Ohio in 2017.
His expertise lies particularly in hip and knee surgery, shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty, trauma surgery, and the treatment of sports injuries. He has made significant contributions to medical literature through scientific publications and innovative surgical techniques, earning recognition and various awards on an international level.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet ERDEM currently continues his professional studies at Burtom Konur Surgical Medical Center.
