Biography and Chronology
Biography of the Chairman of the Board of Directors
Specialist Doctor Erol Kılıç was born in Bursa in 1960, where he completed his primary, secondary and high school education. After successfully completing his high school education, he entered Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine for medical education and graduated in 1984. He started his professional life by completing his compulsory service in Balıkesir İvrindi. Then he returned to Bursa and completed his specialization as a Radiodiagnostic Specialist at Uludağ University. He completed his military service in the radiology department of Istanbul GATA Military Training Hospital between 1991-1992.
After his military service, he went to the United States of America to improve his profession. At the University of Pittsburgh, where he worked as a doctor, he received advanced training in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the most advanced stage of medical imaging technologies. After the U.S.A., he returned to Bursa and founded BURTOM Medical Imaging and Diagnostic Centers in 1994. Since its establishment, it has played an important role in the health sector and has carried out successful projects. Due to his social responsibility, he actively participates in many non-governmental organizations and professional associations as a member. He is married and has two daughters. Dr. Erol Kılıç has also served as a Board Member of BUSIAD and BTSO, BTSO Assembly Member and Chairman of the BTSO Health Council.
- Burtom Health Group started its first branch in Inonu Street in October 1994 with its Computed Tomography, Ultrasonography and X-ray devices.
- In 1997, BURTOM-EMAR Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center put its second branch into service at Heykel/Bursa address.
- In 2000, BETAMAR Özel Sağlık Hizmetleri A.Ş. was established in Altıparmak/Bursa and started to serve as the 3rd branch in advanced Magnetic Resonance imaging. In the same year, when the Ministry of Health started to purchase imaging services in public hospitals, Burtom became the first company in Turkey to start providing Computed Tomography and then Magnetic Resonance (MR) services to the public.
- As of today, Burtom provides imaging services to approximately 35 hospitals in 10 different provinces.
- In 2003, Burtom Medical Analysis Laboratory was put into service with the desire and effort to complete the diagnostic spectrum.
- In 2004, Open MRI was added to the service to serve patients with indoor fear. In the same years, Burtom converted all X-ray systems in medical imaging to digital systems, switched to four-dimensional systems in ultrasonography, panoramic-cephalometric and dental volumetric tomography in dental imaging, digital mammography, multislice computed tomography and high tesla MRI devices were started to be used.
- In 2007, Biyofiz Medical Center started to work in Nilüfer, especially in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation and musculoskeletal diseases.
- In 2009 Bursa Villa Biçen Branch in Bursa Cekirge Street,
- In 2011, nuclear medicine services started with PET/CT and Gamma Camera to complement diagnostic services.
- In 2012, BURTOM Joint Health and Safety Units (Burtom OSGB) company was established to provide services to businesses within the scope of the labor law.
- In 2013, Esentepe branch on Bursa Mudanya road,
- In 2015, the FSM branch on Fatih Sultan Mehmet Boulevard in Bursa was commissioned.
- In 2015, Burtom Biyofiz Medical Center in Mudanya was added to the service network as the 2nd medical center branch in the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation branch.
- In 2017, Burtom Konur Surgical Medical Center was put into service with the concept of a day hospital serving in all branches.
- In 2018, Burtom Özlüce Medical Center was put into service in the developing region of the city, again serving in all branches.
- In 2019, Burtom Aesthetic Center was put into service and works especially in hair transplantation, dermatology, cosmetic and aesthetic surgery.
- In 2018, our investments in Eskişehir City Hospital, Bursa City Hospital in 2019 and Tekirdağ City Hospital in 2020 have been completed and our services have started.
