Education And Experience:
I was born in Ankara in 1970. I graduated from Denizli Gazi Primary School in 1981, TED Ankara College in 1988, and Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1994.
After passing the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), the equivalent of the medical specialization exam in the United States, I obtained the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate. In 2000, I completed my specialization in cardiology at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine, becoming a “cardiology specialist.”
I received interventional cardiology training at Gaziantep Sanko Hospital under the guidance of Dr. Talantbek Batyraliev and Dr. Alper Serçelik. I began a clinical nutrition master’s program at New York Chiropractic College in 2014, completing it in 2016.
I completed the Specialist Certification of Obesity Professional Education (SCOPE) program of the World Obesity Federation, becoming the first person in Turkey to receive this certification.
I obtained the “European Cardiology Diploma” and “Fellowship” (FESC) titles from the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). By passing the exams of the same society, I became the first person in Turkey to receive the pacemaker-ICD implantation certification of the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA).
I registered with the General Medical Council in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland by obtaining equivalent diplomas.
I completed my training at the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), recognized as the leading organization in functional medicine worldwide and operating within the Cleveland Clinic. By passing the exams, I became the first and only person in Turkey to receive the IFMCP (Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner) certification.
I am currently continuing my duties at Konur Cerrahi Medical Center in Bursa.
Functional medicine, which I encountered during my clinical nutrition master’s program in 2014 and has now become a passion, is one of my main areas of interest. It involves making small but significant changes in lifestyle, nutrition, physical exercise, and beyond, based on scientific evidence, for a long and healthy life—a kind of “biohacking.”
