Specialist Dr. Şule Karaarslan graduated from Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in 1991. She completed her neurology residency at Istanbul Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Mental Health and Neurological Diseases Training and Research Hospital (BRSHH), 1st Neurology Clinic.

As part of her compulsory service, she served as a Neurology Specialist at Akhisar State Hospital, where she also held the position of Deputy Chief Physician.

Throughout her career, she has worked in various public and private healthcare institutions, playing an active role in the diagnosis and treatment of numerous neurological conditions such as epilepsy, headaches, movement disorders, stroke, and dementia.

To advance her expertise in clinical neurophysiology, she received Ministry of Health–certified EMG training at the EMG Laboratory of the Neurology Clinic of Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital.

She also attended sleep disorders training programs organized by the Turkish Sleep Medicine Society and Uyku-Der. In addition, she trained in botulinum toxin injections and Greater Occipital Nerve (GON) block techniques for the treatment of migraine and cluster headaches, integrating these methods into her clinical practice.

Dr. Karaarslan continues to actively participate in numerous national and international congresses and scientific meetings, staying up to date with advancements in neurological sciences.

She currently sees patients at Burtom Biyofiz Nilüfer Private Medical Center.

Education

Specialist Dr. Şule Karaarslan began her medical education at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in 1985 and graduated in 1991, earning the title of Medical Doctor (MD).

After successfully passing the Medical Specialization Examination (TUS), she started her neurology residency in 1993 at the 1st Neurology Clinic of Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Bakırköy Mental Health and Neurological Diseases Training and Research Hospital, completing her specialization and becoming a Neurology Specialist in 1998.

During her training, she focused on enhancing her clinical practice, case follow-up, and neurological examination skills, while gaining significant experience in the diagnosis and management of conditions such as neurophysiological disorders, headache syndromes, epilepsy, and stroke.

Experience

After completing her neurology residency, Specialist Dr. Şule Karaarslan has been actively practicing in the field of neurology for over 25 years, working at prominent healthcare institutions in various cities, providing diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of neurological disorders.

She began her professional career at Akhisar State Hospital (1998–2003), where she also served as Deputy Chief Physician during her tenure.
