Emergency Health Services
Emergency health services are intended for individuals experiencing sudden, urgent, or potentially life-threatening health problems. The assessment process begins with triage, during which patients are prioritized according to the severity of their clinical condition rather than their order of arrival.
Emergency departments evaluate a wide range of conditions, including chest pain, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, severe abdominal pain, high fever, allergic reactions, trauma, bleeding, sudden neurological symptoms, and metabolic disturbances. Not every symptom necessarily indicates a serious medical condition; however, early medical assessment is important when symptoms begin suddenly, progress rapidly, or significantly affect a person’s general condition.
During the emergency assessment process, the patient’s medical history, symptoms, physical examination findings, and vital signs are considered together. Depending on clinical needs, blood tests, electrocardiography, radiological imaging, or consultations with other medical departments may be included in the evaluation.
The treatment and follow-up plan may vary according to the patient’s individual health status and clinical findings. Some patients may be discharged after assessment and short-term observation, while others may require further testing, specialist consultation, close monitoring, or hospitalization. The primary aim is to identify urgent risks early, stabilize the patient’s condition, and ensure appropriate medical guidance without unnecessary procedures.
