Spec. Dr. Ergin KARAKAYA completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Bursa. He graduated from 19 Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine in 2007 and completed his Neurology specialization training at Yüzüncü Yıl University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurology, between 2012 and 2017.

His clinical interests cover a broad range of neurological conditions, including migraine and other headache disorders, dizziness and balance problems, trigeminal neuralgia, Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, tremor, neuropathic pain, polyneuropathies, cerebrovascular diseases, myasthenia gravis, ataxias and restless legs syndrome. He also evaluates neurological complaints such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet.

As part of neurological assessment and follow-up, EEG and EMG examinations may be considered when clinically appropriate. GON block may also be evaluated as a treatment option in selected patients with appropriate headache conditions. The diagnostic and treatment approach is planned individually according to the patient’s symptoms, neurological examination findings and general health status.

Throughout his professional career, Spec. Dr. Ergin KARAKAYA has gained clinical experience in primary healthcare services, university hospitals, training and research hospitals, state hospitals and private healthcare institutions. He currently continues his professional practice at Burtom Özlüce Medical Center.
