Spec. Dr. Ümit SÖNMEZ was born in Bulgaria in 1967. After completing his pre-medical education, he started his medical education at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine and graduated in 1990, earning the title of Medical Doctor. He completed his specialization in Neurology (Brain and Nervous System Disorders) between 1992 and 1996 at Trakya University Faculty of Medicine.
Between 2000 and 2002, Spec. Dr. Ümit SÖNMEZ served as the Deputy Chief Physician at Bursa State Hospital, and from 2006 to 2008, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Bursa Medical Chamber.
